Reversible
Australian Receptor
to take bladed and nylon
barbed tags
(ATR)
US
and Australian Billfish
Receptor Needle
(ABFTR)
The
Top Shot tagging needle or receptor is unique
in design and construction. Made of marine
grade stainless steel, it does not require
rubber bands or other methods of tag streamer
attachments - it is completely self contained
and user friendly.
The Australia Tag Receptor is also reversible,
making it dual purpose, to accommodate both
the Australian designed tags, i.e. the nylon
barbed streamer used for the majority of fish
tagging, and the stainless steel bladed streamer
used for shark and game fishing.
Top Shot also has a tag receptor to suit the
American Billfish Foundation tagging system
and new Australian Billfish tagging system.
Although it is not reversible, it also does
not require rubber bands and operates in the
same way as the Australian tag receptor, is
self contained and easy to use.
Both the Top Shot tag receptor systems will
readily combine with the complete range of
Top Shot poles.
A stainless steel strike plate is also available
and will screw onto the receptor. Mainly used
on the long reach poles, the strike plate
is recommended to increase targeting visibility
and stop over-penetration of the fish when
tagging at depth or distance.
